. this is 95 in virginia. there have been a couple of accidents, including one up near the beltway. police are working to get those out of the rdway. in from the north, so far so good far as accidents go. i-270 corridor and beltway north of town doing okay. again the combination of the rain and the win beginning to pick up is going to make it extremely difficult if you're going to be out, certainly tra travel time this morning. may want to avoid the far right and far le travel lanes because that's where the water has a tendency to pond and we'll keep you updated. could be a long day. >> all right, jerry, thanks for that update. >> the wet weather is not affectinonly the roads. the airports warned of delays and remind you to schek your flight status before you head out to the airport. right now also pepco reports more than 1,000 people without electricity in montgomery county, prince georgs county and the distct. ege reports 300 customers without power and virginia dominion reports 73 people without power in northern virginia. now pepco customers who report any outages by calling 1-877-pep

warnings out for parts of virginia and north carolina. let's go to the magic wall. kyra tuck county, northeastern parts of north carolina, and matthews county, the pink polygons that you see here these are tornadoes. and both of these cells are moving north at 40 miles an hour. so moving very, very quickly. this saul within a tornado watch that empasses a big swath of real estate across the mid-atlantic until 1:00 this afternoon. so this is -- you know, we have remnants of a tropical system which was only around for a little bit. and we got a tremendous amount of rain. flooding a huge issue. boy, i'll tell you some of the areas that we've already seen flooding in, like wilmington, 7 inches of rainfall. that's just in 24 hours. and that doesn't include, john, the 10 inches that they had two days earlier. they could very well end up with 20 inches of rainfall without a hurricane there. >> how long is this going to last? >> north carolina will last for six to eight hours. but the northeast is in for it today. a lot of moisture out there. the silver lining is, a lot of these spots need

, virginia beach, norfolk area. another tornado warning that includes these cities with this cell that's moving northeast across the newport news through the chesspy. that's in effect for the next 20 minutes as well. no confirmed reports of these tornadoes touching down. radar indicated. there's been a lot of wind in these cells also. williamsburg, one report of a tree down here and -- that fell on top of a car and one person injured there. this is a dangerous situation that we're going to be dealing with for a good 12 to 18 hours more. more rain coming in to wilmington. it wants to push off to the east but having a hard time doing that. we have flash flood warnings and watches from north carolina to the canadian border here for the next 36 to 48 hours. heavy rainfall and in some cases flooding rain. good news is, once we get through this, kyra, it will be a pretty nice weekend. got to get through it first. >> got to get there. thanks, rob. >>> johnson & johnson' ceo william welldon on capitol hill testifying about the company's recall of contaminated medicines. he did not appear when

mentioned the tornado watch. we do have a tornado warning just south of virginia beach there. just south into the norfolk area. also watching a flash flood warning around the d.c. area, already getting reports of roads with water covering them. that will be the problem in the big cities. our computers are forecasting as much as five inches of rain in the cities, especially north and west of new york and fimly, could be as much as six inches of rain in the next day or two. airports are going to be a big, big problem during the day high wind warning in effect for new york city. you get the general idea, probably the worse weather we've seen in the last few months. tomorrow morning still with us, but ending tomorrow afternoon is when the storm system will finally move out. give yourself extra time today. if you're heading the the airports, call ahead to see if your flight has been canceled or delayed. you're watching "morning joe" brewed by starbucks. maybe you want school kids to have more exposure to the arts. maybe you want to provide meals for the needy. or maybe you want to help when t

in illinois, west virginia and delaware will take office more or less immediately after votes are canvased and certified and they'll be serving in the lame-duck session. i believe that voters in those states will render a very clear judgment on this lame duck agenda by sending additional reinforcements for our side of the aisle. the campaign strategy of our friends on the other side of the aisle is crystal clear. they are not running on their legislative accomplishments because it's largely unpopular. and they are worried that voters will hold them accountable for the failure of those policies to meet their own stated goals. so they're running campaigns against the american people, some of whom are participating in the political process for the first time. and i'm talking about the tea party movement. calling some of these participants in the process guaranteed by the first amendment of the constitution to redress their government on their grievances and they're deemonizing members of the tea party -- demonizing members of the tea party movement. and president obama has engaged in class wa
